If you are trying to increase your business, a life insurance lead may be your best bet. (Unnamed Copywriting)

If you are trying to increase your business, a life insurance lead may be your best bet.

Today is not the best age of insurance sales. The falling economy has moved well beyond the initial stages of a recession. The national rate of unemployment recently broke the 10 percent mark. Average household income is down by over 7 percent. The average home price has fallen by almost 20 percent. The economy is in a very rough patch and it is affecting almost every field of business out there.

Due to these facts, a successful insurance agent is going to need to talk to a much greater number of potential clients for every policy written. In order to maintain levels of sales on auto insurance, term life insurance, and really all forms of insurance in this market, an insurance agent is going to need to look to non-traditional forms of sales lead generation.

Life insurance leads are the key to success in this economy. But, traditional forms of life insurance lead generation are not going to bring in enough life insurance sales leads on their own to maintain good levels of business. A successful insurance agent is going to need to turn to online sales leads to fill the gap that the economy is leaving in their books of business.

An online life insurance sales lead, despite the common misconception, is not any harder to convert to a written policy than are exclusive life insurance leads garnered in a traditional fashion, like print ads, billboards, and referrals. These leads are people who are actively looking for new insurance policies, just like the clients that are coming in to an insurance agent’s office off the street. It will only take minimal effort to convert these leads into customers.

However, unlike the traditionally generated sales leads, the online leads can actually be more suited to a particular agents wants and needs. With a customer off the street, an insurance agent has no control over what type of policy the client is trying to obtain. An agent hoping to specialize in auto policies is certainly not going to turn a potential life insurance client away, but would likely rather be talking to a new prospective auto insurance client, as that is the agent’s specialty. With a good online lead campaign, an insurance agent can dictate exactly what type of prospective client they are looking to get, and as a result spend the majority of their time working with the clients that they are most suited to convert.

If you are an insurance agent looking to increase your book of business, it is time to make the jump into online insurance sales leads.
